Piper is Sinclair College’s community support dog. He is a golden lab that can usually be seen patrolling the halls with his handler Officer Michael Tyahur looking for people in need of a good dog.
He was brought into the Sinclair community to help with the mental health of the student body. There was a noted change in mental health post COVID and the Sinclair police wished to alleviate that.
“We wanted to look at avenues as to how we could truly help the community here at Sinclair and what we ultimately came up with was a therapy dog,” Tyahur said.
To bring attention to Piper and his exploits across the campus, Sinclair has done a photo shoot for a calendar featuring Piper and three of his friends.
