Hidden Gems – Sinclair Food Pantry

College students are always looking to save money since let’s face it money is almost always a challenge. The Sinclair food pantry is a huge help for college students. They provide food, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene supplies, and even baby supplies for those that can’t always make ends meet. Recently the food pantry has included refrigerated and frozen foods to the long list of things they provide. The food pantry caters to any currently enrolled Sinclair student who may need help.

“Any current student can come in and shop the food pantry every two weeks,” said Julia Stidham.

If students don’t attend the main campus, there is help there as well. The Food Pantry now delivers to the Centerville, Englewood, Huber Heights, and Mason Regional Centers twice a month. Refrigerated and frozen items cannot be delivered to the Regional Centers. Just go to the Sinclair Food Pantry site and apply by fill out the Regional Center Pickup form. If students don’t live near a Regional Center Sinclair Food Pantry has ways to help find a food pantry near them.

“We have had the refrigerated and frozen foods for about 2 months now,” said Stidham.

The food pantry is open Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Sinclair Food Pantry is in building 13 room 426.

If students need more assistance, the food pantry now has a Licensed Social Worker, Stidham, to help guide students and help fill out those pesky forms. She will contact students to help with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) forms or even to find food pantries in their city. Other things that can be of help in finding local resources to help with housing, transportation, and healthcare.

“I help with food, clothing, transportation, and finances to sum it all up,” said Stidham.

As always this service is reliant on donations, so if students would like to make a monetary donation students can do so by going here. If students wish to donate items, contact foodpantry@sinclair.edu or drop by the food pantry with your items. If students would like to volunteer contact Stidham at julia.stidham@sinclair.edu.
