A recent study by the nonpartisan Committee for A Responsible Federal Budget revealed former President Trump added a whopping $8.4 trillion to the national debt during his tenure in office. They dwarf the $4.3 trillion approved by the Biden administration.
According to the report, Trump approved $4.8 trillion in non-Covid related debt in addition to $3.6 trillion connected to the CARES Act and other Covid-related measures. By comparison, President Biden’s tenure has seen non-Covid related borrowing to the tune of $2.2 trillion and another $2.1 trillion when the American Rescue Act is considered.
The news comes as election fever continues to sweep the nation from coast to coast. Hot-button issues include the national debt, women’s reproductive rights, and the future of American democracy.
