You are Invited to “The Hello Girls” Backstage Tour

Attention all Sinclair faculty and staff… Are you interested in theater? Do you want to know what happens behind the scenes? On March 28, you are invited to take a backstage tour of the play “The Hello Girls Chronicles.” Inspired by actual events, this musical play is the story of America’s first women soldiers.

These groundbreaking women were the turning point in World War I by serving as bilingual telephone operators. Women in 1918, jumped at the opportunity to help serve their country. In the span of a few months, the war department received thousands of applications from women wishing to serve. The women finally got their chance to serve on the front lines.

After returning home from the war, these girls faced many decade-long obstacles but managed to change history regarding equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations. Allison Burley, a creative writing major, was asked if she would attend this inspiring musical.

“I think it is really cool they are doing a play about this. Before you said anything, I had no idea such an event happened in history, and now I am really interested to see the full story. I think it is a truly inspiring story that many women need to be aware of and I definitely plan on seeing the play when it comes out,” said Burley.

Sinclair faculty and staff, join us on Tuesday, March 28, at 4 p.m. to take a trip back in history. Meet at Sinclair’s Dayton Campus in building 2, in the Blair Hall lobby, to take a trip back in time. Attending this musical is perfect for getting involved during Women’s History Month! All you need to do is register at: The Hello Girls Backstage at the Theatre Tour.

Hope to see you there!
