   Crunchyroll.com is the most popular streaming service for anime, manga and live action drama series. Last year they hosted their first annual Anime Awards that allowed viewers to vote on different nominees in a variety of categories.

   Right now, they are in the process of their second Anime Awards that are highlighting the best anime that was released in 2017. There are 17 different categories with 6 nominees in each category. The first week of voting will be for best animation, best score, best C.G.I, best film, best opening, and best ending.

   The nominees for best animation are: “Made in Abyss,” “Little Witch Academia,” “Land of the Lustrous,” “The Ancient Magus’ Bride,” “ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.,” and “Re:Creators.”

   The animes selected for best score are: “Made in Abyss,” “Little Witch Academia,” “Land of the Lustrous,” “The Ancient Magus’ Bride,” “ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.,” and “Re:Creators.”

13413525315_a430af96a1_b   The animes nominees for best CGI are: “Land of the Lustrous,” “Kado: The Right Answer,” “Re:Creators,” “Attack on Titan Season 2,” “Knights & Magic,” and “Inuyashiki.”

   While most anime on Crunchyroll are TV series, there are also several movies that are streamed on the site as well. The anime movies selected for best film are: “A Silent Voice,” “Your Name,” “In This Corner of the World,” “Girls und Panzer der Film,” “Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen,” and “Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel – 1. Presage Flower.”

   Then there are additional categories that celebrate the best opening sequence and credit sequence for shows.

   The best opening nominees are: “Shadow and Truth” by ONE III NOTES from the anime ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., “Here” by JUNNA from the anime The Ancient Magus’ Bride, “Shinzou wo Sasageyo! (心臓を捧げよ!)” by Linked Horizon from Attack on Titan Season 2, “Peace Sign (ピースサイン)” by Kenshi Yonezu from My Hero Academia Season 2, “The Other Side of the Wall” by Void_Chords feat. MARU from Princess Principal and “Imawa no Shinigami (今際の死神)” by Megumi Hayashibara from Descending Stories: Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū.

Those nominees are: “Step Up LOVE (ステップアップLOVE)” by DAOKO x Yasuyuki Okamura from Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond, “Ishukan Communication (イシュカン・コミュニケーション)” by Chorogonzu (ちょろゴンず) from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, “Kirameku Hamabe (煌めく浜辺)” by Yuiko Ohara from Land of the Lustruous, “Hikari, Hikari (ひかり、ひかり)” by Yuuka Aisaka from Recovery of an MMO Junkie, “behind” by Karin Isobe, Yuna Yoshino, and Lynn from “Just Because!,” and “Kafune (カフネ)” by Brian the Sun from March comes in like a lion Season 2.

   There are more awards that will be determined in the following weeks when they open up for fan voting. Some of the remaining categories for fans to vote on include the best continuing series, best comedy, best slice of life, best action, best drama, best hero, best villain, best girl, best boy, anime of the year and best manga.
