Every weather season comes with its own set of problems; winter brings snow and extreme cold, whereas summer brings heat that feels as if one is being fried.

As summer heat keeps getting hotter and hotter, here are five ways to beat the heat this summer.

Having a personal fan

These little fans are mostly seen at events with large crowds in the summertime, and at weddings, where the bride is given one so she won’t sweat and ruin her makeup. Some people at weddings may also have one.

These fans are one way to beat the summer heat. They are affordable and easy to carry around. Some fans can be charged like a phone, and others that use batteries. With such a fan, no heat is hot enough.

Staying indoors

As much as most people love going outside in the summer, when the heat exceeds 90 degrees, staying indoors where air conditioning is available or visiting places with air conditioning is a must.

Staying indoors is another way of beating the heat. Staying under the shade can also be a way to keep cool and minimize exposure to the heat.

Drinking Water

Being dehydrated in the summer can be unhealthy and lead to illness. Drinking water and carrying a bottle of water as one goes about their day is necessary.

The water bottle does not have to be a Stanley or any expensive name brand. There are affordable ones at Walmart that work just as well as the pricy counterparts.

Also, monitoring how much water one drinks in a day can help determine whether the body is hydrated or not.

Dress according to the weather.

Instead of wearing the colors that are one’s preference, in summer it is better to wear clothes that are lighter and breathable.

What we wear can either help us beat the heat or suffocate us, so when choosing what to wear, check the weather app and dress accordingly. Make sure that the clothes are loose as well.

Have a hat, shades or anything else that can keep the sun out.

Taking a cold shower

Another way to beat the heat is to shower with cold water. This method lowers the body temperature. If you are someone who sweat a lot, having something you can put in water and wipe the sweat out as you go about your day can also help with stay cool in this heat.
