On Friday, Dec. 1, Sinclair’s Centerville campus greeted the holiday season with a joyful concert that had the theater filled with smiling families.

Opening with smooth jazz sounds and a unique rendition of “Jingle Bells” was the Sinclair Faculty Combo.

Next, the Centerville Chorale put everyone into the Christmas spirit with nostalgic carols like  “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” Their soft yet powerful voices were enough to make the audience want more.

Following was the Sinclair Youth Jazz Ensemble. Directed by Bill Burns, the group is composed of Sinclair students, faculty, and highschoolers from across the Miami Valley. They performed “Coconut Champaign” and “Winter Wonderland” with extreme gusto and energy.

After the Ensemble’s striking performance, the Kettering Fairmont High School Symphonic Chorale took the stage with several movements of Vivaldi’s Gloria. The audience was dazzled by the impressive, professional opera performance that the students delivered.
