“I was very surprised and humbled,” said Dr. Tina L. Hummons. She has a doctorate in community college leadership from Ferris State University, a master’s in education leadership and a bachelor’s in liberal arts from Wright State University. She has been a part of the Sinclair family for 15 years.

SOCHE is in collaboration with Ohio universities and colleges to promote education and employment that will transform the economy. Founded in 1967, it has a program offered to Sinclair students called Cross Registration. The program allows enrolled students at Sinclair an opportunity to take courses from other participating SOCHE institutions. Hummons is part of the team that can help students achieve their degrees.

“It’s an opportunity for degree seeking students to either advance their program of study, or if they need one more class that Sinclair is not offering, then they can go to a partnering school to take the class,” said Hummons.

Sinclair students can take classes at Wright State, Central State, or Wilberforce. To fo this, the student needs to fill out the appropriate form from Academic Advising and take it to the registration office.

“A Sinclair student would pay Sinclair prices to take the class. You pay our tuition and our fees,” said Hummons

Students need to be aware that other schools may have a different academic calendar. For more information about the Cross-Registration program contact.
