In Life and Liberty: Ivanka and her father

Ivanka Trump has turned heads, and not just her father’s, with her unofficial White House role that she plans to be taking.

At first, she backed off from any positions in the White House and decided to just stay in Washington. But she could only let the men rule for too long before she decided to step in.

The fact that she will not be sworn into any position, will not have an official title and will not be accepting any salary raises some ethical questions.

I personally believe that ethics means very different things to very different people and any institution with a semblance of politics within them has very few ethics.

Her attorney has said that the First Daughter’s role will be as the President’s “eyes and ears” since his clearly aren’t functioning correctly.

Since the whole microwave thing didn’t go over too well, she’s going to find the real truth of this whole wiretapping thing.

Ivanka is pretty used to taking a backseat when it comes to official positions. She sat by her father’s side for several years on the “Celebrity Apprentice.” I’m not sure if she really said anything as I haven’t watched the show, but I’m sure she looked pretty.

Of course, access to the Trump administration means access to confidential information, which she will have even though she is not held to any type of rules or standards that a White House employee would face since she isn’t official.

It’s fine though. She’s totally trustworthy. We just have to take the White House’s word for it.

As an informal advisor, no one in the public will really know what exactly she is going to be doing in the White House and as she isn’t official, she doesn’t have to hold to the same type of standards as anyone else.

Again, however, it’s totally fine. Ethics schmethics. Those are just a completely pointless guideline. There’s no need to follow them whatsoever.

We would all prefer to be surrounded by people we trust, unless you hold to the ethic of keep your enemies closer, as I do. President Trump would probably rather surround himself with people who he trusts. People who encourage his habit of watching cable news and then tweeting about it, not discouraging it.

Ivanka is said to have been behind some of President Trump’s policies such as family leave, women in the workplace and child care. With her new position, she could influence her father to make these into real policies, which could be a good thing.

Or Trump could say something really insulting on Twitter, make creepy comments about his daughter and then have all of his employees call for an investigation into something that isn’t even happening.

Either way, Ivanka is coming! Whether it’s a rescue effort from the bouncy house that no human can get out of without being trampled or a deep dive into the mess of humans is yet to be known. Just hold on tight because we’re only a couple of months into this.
