In the early weeks of the season, the Dragons have displayed their ability of offensive potential, continuing to develop young prospective players for the Cincinnati Reds. Several returning players and new additions contribute to keeping the team competitive.

There is some young talent that has fans eager to be in the stands cheering on the Dragons this season. Three outstanding catchers that have been heavily mentioned are Ryan McCrystal, Diego Omana and Alfredo Duno.

Duno, a 20-year-old from Venezuela, is also a designated hitter and one of the Reds’ highest-rating prospects. Duno played last season with the Daytona Tortugas, where he was selected as MVP and the league’s best Majors prospect.

While playing for the Tortugas he ranked second in the league in batting average (.287) and hit 112 bases. Duno and his team’s efforts have led the Dragons to 25 wins this year, drumming up excitement for the second half of the season.

Beyond the wins and losses, the Dragons have focused on players’ development heading toward the Major Leagues. Popular names like Elly De La Cruz, Joey Votto and Jonathan India built the foundation of fresh new talent hitting the field.

As the season continues, the Dragons will look to build consistency–giving fans more opportunities to witness some of the Reds’ rising talent at Dayton Air Ballpark.
