NFL Recap – Weeks 9 & 10

Weeks 9 and 10 are done in the NFL, which means all teams have seven games left in the season.

Week 9 brought the fans some good games that ended with close scores. The Saints faced off against the Falcons, where it resulted in a Falcon win 27-25. Another game that ended close was the Bills versus the Jaguars, which ended with a score of 9-6 in favor of the Jaguars. The last close game was between the Ravens and the Vikings. This game went into overtime after a 14-point comeback by the Ravens. In overtime, the Ravens were able to kick a field goal and win the game 34-31.

Week 9 also held the first game between the two Ohio teams, the Browns and the Bengals. The game was dominated by the Browns. The first score of the game came off of a 100-yard pick-six for the Browns. The Browns won the game 41-16.

“The NFL is a quarterback-driven league & not only are established veterans’ quarterbacks like Tom Brady playing well but also young quarterbacks like Kyler Murray, Justin Herbert, and many others have put their teams NFL franchises back on the map,” said Ghiman McKinney, football fan.

Moving on to week 10, where there was an upset or two, some blowout games, and the first tie this year.

The first game that was an upset was a game between the Ravens and the Dolphins. The Dolphins won this game by a score of 22-10. The next upset was the Buccaneers versus the Washington Football Team. The Washington Football Team won 29-19.

“The two biggest shockers for week 10 would have to be the Patriots beating the Browns by nearly 40 points and the Dolphins upsetting the Ravens,” said McKinney.

The two games that ended in a blowout were The Patriots versus the Browns. To seal the deal for the Patriots they put up 14 points in the fourth quarter. This game ended with a score of 45-7, and a Patriots win. The other game was between the Cowboys and the Falcons. In the second quarter, the Cowboys put up 29 points and won this game 43-3. In both of these games, the losing team scored just once in the first quarter and could never score again.

The last big thing that happened in week 10 was a game ending in a tie, the Lions versus the Steelers. This game went into overtime and for the first time this season, neither team was able to score ending the game with a score of 16-16.

“The NFC seems to have to best three teams right now in the Rams, the Buccaneers, and the Packers. The AFC on the other hand seems to be wide open,” said McKinney.

With weeks 9 and 10 over, it will be interesting to see what teams perform the best next week and have the best shout to make the playoffs.
