Gender issues have remained at the forefront of American society for years now due to the ongoing discussion over topics such as the gender pay gap and healthcare access. According to data from the US Census Bureau, in 2021 full-time working women in America earned 84% of what their male counterparts earned. Data from the Pew Research Center further showed women earning 82% as much as men in similar positions in 2022. Over the years, research from the center has shown that the gap has not decreased but narrowed among younger workers.

These and other issues have once again come to forefront in the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. Discussions about gender violence, bias, and women’s rights were brought into sharper focus after the decision.
