No matter who you are or where you come from, Sinclair Community College is willing to help guide those in need of academic success.

On Feb. 1, the Military Family Education Center relocated to Building 10 in Room 444. Providing a fresh start to the new year for the individuals who have served as our nation’s heroes.

This improved location is now equipped with study stations, a flat-screen television fit for all to watch comfortably, a refrigerator, microwave, furniture, and panoramic windows that invite natural light.

Sinclair has worked very hard to provide a hospitable area for student veterans, active-duty military units, and their families by including amazing resources that can direct the proper attention to academic efforts. Making room for those individuals who are in a transitional state of wanting to commit to acquiring their personal scholarly ambitions.

Seeing that Veterans make a difference in our communities, Sinclair is also able to show recognition and support to all military families. Supplying an environment that allows inclusivity to all. Allowing veterans to feel and know that they matter here at Sinclair Community College.

There are tons of colleges that speak on the contributions that veterans have given us. However, there are few that are willing to make a difference and contribute to the success of their lives. The aftermath is an important factor especially when focusing on pursuing an academic career, or continuing one.

A commodious building specifically enhanced to fit our nation’s heroes’ needs was an impactful decision. The building itself is a nice size and accommodates exactly what military units need academically. Having study rooms provides a welcoming area that is dedicated to productivity and free from disturbances.

Relaxing furniture for lounging with loved ones creates room for more memories to be created and relaxation. The television is a 75-inch that is large enough for all families to unite and enjoy a movie or two. As well as the natural lighting from the windows permitting less use of electricity and bringing in more happiness and tranquility.

The refrigerator and microwave are a plus seeing that the two supplies provide a hospitable effect, allowing the veterans to prepare their own food if needed. Overall I am proud to say that the relocation of the Military Family Education Center is a place where all groups of people should be; specifically Veterans and their families. It is always nice to have a location that is established with everything that you would need to reach your goals as well as new heights. With Sinclair being a community college the program developed for Veterans is afoot in the door to all who are trying to earn a degree or at least get started in the educational direction.

Once a veteran graduates with their degree program of choice, Sinclair offers a Veteran Alumni Challenge Coin. It is a token of success to mark their achievements.
