National Love Your Pet Day Returns To Sinclair

Pet lovers and animal aficionados of all types are being given a chance to celebrate that special
companion in their lives this month. Today Feb. 20 is National Love Your Pet Day and will be
commemorated on campus with a photo contest with plenty of prizes up for grabs.

The National Love Your Pet Day photo contest has endeared itself to members of the Sinclair
community
for its fun-filled and heartwarming entries. Whether four-legged and furry or covered
in feathers, pets of all kinds are welcome to participate and stake their claim as the college’s
most adorable companion.

For its 2023 edition, submissions to the contest can be made from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 20.
All prospective participants need to do is log into eLearn and head to the Sinclair College
Student Clubs and Organizations’ Hub to access the photo submission link. Simply upload an
image of your pet and hit submit. Only one entry is allowed per contestant.

Throughout history, pets have held a firm place in the hearts of their human companions, a bond
National Love Your Pet Day aims to celebrate. Around the world, in times of ease and times of
distress, life simply would not be the same without the loveable critters in our lives. This is just
as a true in the U.S. While estimates are hard to come by, data from the American Pet Products
Association
(APPA) indicates that around 70% of all households in America had a pet in 2021-
2022.

Animal lovers rarely need an excuse to shower their pets with love, but those that do need look no
further than National Love Your Pet Day. More than an opportunity to show-off a furry friend,
this special day is all about commemorating the relationship between humans and their pets.
