For All the Singles Out There: Celebrate Galentine’s Day

As Valentine’s Day approaches, there are many of us out there who are still single. That doesn’t mean that we can’t have plans. We can gather with some of our fellow singles for Galentine’s Day. Or like Taylor Swift, throw a pathetic single girls party. Either way, let’s look at some ways to party with the gals:

  • Watch Chick Flicks

Watch movies about love! The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, Sleepless in Seattle – the list goes on. Even if you aren’t in a relationship, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy fictional love stories. Get popcorn and blankets while you all sit on the couch feeling sappy.

  • Eat Junk Food

Forget watching what you eat for a day. Enjoy yourself with ice cream, chips, chocolate, popcorn – whatever you like! You could even find a fun recipe to make together, like cookies. Whatever you and your friends like to eat, indulge yourselves – you deserve it!

  • Make & Listen to a Singles’ Playlist

Get together to make a playlist of some of your favorite songs and have a dance party! There are so many songs out there about love, but there’s some for singles too if you look hard enough. You can also add upbeat songs that aren’t even about love. Heck, add some break-up songs and get dramatic over a relationship that you’ve never even been in.

  • Take Polaroid Pictures

Do you or your friends own a polaroid camera? If so, bring it to the party and have a photo shoot. It can be random or have a specific theme. Maybe have everyone sport pink or hearts to show their Galentine’s Day cheer! Even if no one has a polaroid camera, you can still get out your phones for goofy (or serious, whichever you prefer) photos.

  • Make it a Pajama Party

Have a sleepover for old-time’s sake. You can include all of the above ideas: movies, snacks, photos and music. Stay up late and just hang out! If a sleep over doesn’t work because of school or job schedules, have everyone come in their pajamas for a few hours anyway and have some fun.

  • Buy Gifts for Each Other

Depending on the size, buy a small gift for each member of your party. You could even draw names and have a Valentine’s Day version of a Secret Santa gift giving. If you want to keep it really simple, get each other cards – or even have a set time where you all sit down together to make homemade ones to hand out!

Hopefully this inspired you with fun ideas to do with the girls! Maybe it even made you excited about being single. Whatever you decide to do, be sure to enjoy it. Happy Galentine’s Day!
