‘Antigone’ auditions tonight

Open auditions for Sinclair Community College’s winter production of “Antigone” are scheduled for Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Building 2, Room L12. The Sinclair Theatre Department asks any interested in auditioning to prepare a one minute monologue from any Greek play other than “Antigone.”

Directed by Professor Emeritus Robert MacClennan, “Antigone” is the story of Oedipus the King’s daughter who finds herself at odds with Creon, the new ruler of Thebes, according to Sinclair’s Web site. MacClennan helped produce “Antigone” at Sinclair in 1990. Because of MacClennan’s production efforts, the former Sinclair professor was given the school’s “Innovator of the Year” award in 1991.
