Okay cinephiles, stay warm, stay safe and snuggle in with the one you love and some chocolate treats to watch heart-warming movies this Valentine’s Day.
Rom-Com: “Sleepless in Seattle” (1993)

Any Meg Ryan film can and should be on a rom-com list. “When Harry Met Sally” is the quintessential friends-to-lovers movie, but we picked “Sleepless in Seattle” since it centers around Valentine’s Day. This sweet love story pairs a grief-stricken widower and now-single parent (Tom Hanks), with a journalist who falls for him after hearing his heartfelt words of love for his deceased wife.
Drama: “Titanic” (1997)

This movie is an epic historical romance and drama, written and directed by James Cameron. Academy Award-winning and major meme-producing movie set in 1912, features dynamics of wealth and poverty, feminism, love and courage.
Modern & Diverse: “Slumdog Millionaire” (2008)

Directed by Danny Boyle, this film is a critically acclaimed romantic drama and rags-to-riches tale, featuring a touching love story that develops in the often-horrific slums of Mumbai, India.
“Slumdog Millionaire” shows that love can prevail even in the most dire of circumstances.

Classic Vintage: “Casablanca” (1942)

This movie probably has more iconic lines than any movie has a right to, and for good reason. This beloved, black and white, Academy Award-winning love story is part-mystery, part-drama and part-patriotism set during WWII.
Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror: “The Shape of Water” (2017)

Directed and produced by Guillermo del Toro, “The Shape of Water” is a critically acclaimed and Academy Award-winning film that follows a lonely, disabled, mute woman who develops an unlikely romantic relationship with a captured aquatic being.
From comedies, to drama, modern to vintage, diverse to quirky and fantasy to science fiction, there is truly no shortage of romantic movies. Just choose wisely because there may not be enough time in just one night to watch them all.
