Ubisoft announced that its next major title was being pushed to an early 2025 release window. “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is now scheduled to come out on Feb. 14 2025 instead of Nov. 12 2024.
The move was announced following a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors. According to a press release, a decision to push the game’s release date was made in accordance with player feedback and the “unexpectedly soft launch of Star Wars Outlaws.”
In the same release, Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot, was quoted saying, “Our second quarter performance fell short of our expectations, prompting us to address this swiftly and firmly, with an even greater focus on a player-centric, gameplay-first approach and an unwavering commitment to the long-term value of our brands.”
The press release also noted that the delay would give the game developers time to ensure the experience would be “feature-complete” for players. Additionally, it was also announced that the company was getting rid of its season pass model with all players getting the chance to play the game at the same time on Feb. 14. All players will also be given “Assassin’s Creed: Shadows” first expansion free of charge.
