Novonty’s Nuptial Knowledge: Five Wedding Trends Headed Out

The best weddings are trendy as much as they are personalized. If you’re planning your wedding for 2019/2029, you’re probably preparing Pinterest boards, ripping images out of magazines and more to see what’s trending and not trending and how to make it personalized.

Below are five trends that are heading out later this year and five new ideas to liven up your big day.

Bye-Bye Barns

Venues such as barns are on their way out. Today’s couples are far busier than they have ever been before and couples are starting to realize how much time it takes to research, create and enact their dream day.

Hiring a planner can help some couples are opting for all-inclusive venues. Couples are using more creative personized décor to individualize these spaces to their taste.

If an all-inclusive space isn’t your thing and you still want that feel of the outside without the uncontrollable weather you can bring the outdoors in by opting for interior garden venues such as greenhouses and artistic indoor greenery.

Those still looking for that laid back feel barns provided can look for more rustic settings including industrial spaces and hotels with rooms providing an “unfinished” look.

Ditching the White

Today’s weddings are all about customization. While white and shades of ivory will always be the top pick, modern brides are opting for gowns in bright hues reminiscent of High School proms in shades of blue, pink and purple.

For those who want to keep a sense of tradition can still have a pop or color. Using lace with an underlay in a pastel hue of your favorite color or pale shades of popular tones under the tulle of your gown can provide you with an extra special touch to a traditional look.

Disappearing Minimum Flowers

With barns on their way out, many brides are heading towards all-inclusive spaces as well as rustic backdrops. This change in scenery has also caused florists to step up their game to fit these venues.

Floral like baby’s breath and wildflowers are on their way out while greenery will be staying. Lush and over the top foliage and succulents will fit any of your venues.

Think color saturation with metallics and geometrics when it comes to your pristine petals. You will see dark purples, wine and lilac sticking with Pantone’s color of the year in the coming months.

Whether matched your décor in an inclusive venue or juxtaposing your rustic backdrop, rich hues will help you stand out at your big day.

Putting Pastels Away

Pastels were perfect for barns and down-to-Earth settings. These pale hues, however, get lost in rustic backdrops and venues that are more inclusive like hotels and convention centers.

Pastels are on their way out, with cheerful and rich colors coming back in. Your backdrop, your table settings, entryway and reception hall will be better fitting to the new season in bold colors.

Combining saturated hues like wine, champagne, violet with black against natural marble accents, lots of foliage and rustic metal inflections creates a stunning texture for your senses and visuals for photographs.

Remixed Buffets

Buffets have become more of a burden for the coming season than most couples want to deal with. While buffets and sit down dinners will never disappear completely, a new style of dining is a long time coming.

The past few seasons have been marked with casual settings and mingling, while venues have changed this mingling has carried over into 2019/2020 trends.

The casual touch of buffets has been combined with cocktail parties; food is spread out in miniature visual stations throughout the room. This technique allows guests to circulate and talk without being stuck in a line. This can be taken to the next level by ditching the seating chart!

The next season of weddings are bringing with it a huge shift in style which has been a long time coming. Try out these coming trends with a personalized touch to make it more individualized for you.
