Students Support Sinclair is teaming up with Career Services to host the Sinclair Talk, \u201cJump Start Your Career,\u201d designed to help students improve their professional resumes and help prepare them when networking with professionals.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s more of an open house as opposed to a traditional Sinclair Talk,\u201c Alumna and Stewardship Officer Lauren Johnson said. \u201cStudents are able to attend anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s recommended those who are interested in attending to dress well, as the event will feature the opportunity for students to get professional quality headshots taken.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce they get their headshot, there will be a table set up where students can meet with representatives from Career Services about all the ways they can help,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n
Students can work with Career Services on things like setting up a LinkedIn profile, which, according to Johnson, is a great way to begin networking with professionals.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully it helps students get a jump start on their careers and to start networking,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n
The event is free, however, donations are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n
Any donation students make will go to the Class Gift Scholarship, an annual scholarship fund started by S3, funded completely by students.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s for a great cause, and hopefully students who attend can get something out of it,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n
Jump Start Your Career will take place Tuesday, Feb. 25 on the third floor of Building 10. Students can attend any time from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
