Workforce Development, a non-credit earning program designed to assist employers in training their employees, is hoping to move to a new location.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe offer custom training and consulting services that meet the needs of he businesses that are located in that region,\u201d Director of Public Relations Adam Murka said.<\/p>\n
Workforce Development currently has a location in the Miami Valley Research Park, but will move to a 7,000 to 7,500 square foot leased location in Beavercreek on Pentagon Boulevard, off of I-675.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you look at the Pentagon Boulevard area, that is actually the fastest-growing group of employers in our entire region, in terms of a cluster,\u201d Deb Norris, vice president of Workforce Development and Corporate Services, said. \u201cWhen you look at the proximity to Wright Patterson Air Force Base for us \u2026 It\u2019s a nice cluster there, so when you look at the high growth, it\u2019s a nice connection for us in the products and services that we\u2019ve developed in our division, it\u2019s just a nice fit.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said Sinclair hopes the new location will move by the first of the year, depending on board approval.<\/p>\n
Norris said the services and products Workforce Development would offer to the employers will help drive more business for them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe idea is that everybody helps everybody else do better business,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Norris said there is a connection between workforce development and economic growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s really such a strong intersection between workforce development and economic development,\u201d Norris said. \u201cCompanies aren\u2019t going to move into our area and they\u2019re not going to stay if they don\u2019t have the workforce that they need to do the business that they need to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022 Partnership Activities: Wright State Research Institute<\/p>\n
\u2022 Partnership Activities: Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Air Force Research Laboratory<\/p>\n
\u2022 Defense Acquisition Academy Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance<\/p>\n
\u2022 Project Management Boot camp<\/p>\n
\u2022 Process Improvement\/Lean.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t do any of the college credit stuff; we\u2019ve never touched that,\u201d Norris said. \u201cWhat we like to think that we do for businesses is make them better, just like what the rest of the college does for the students, they make a difference in their life.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
