{"id":9245,"date":"2013-09-23T12:46:53","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T17:46:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/?p=9245"},"modified":"2016-04-29T10:13:24","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T15:13:24","slug":"campus-ministry-to-host-its-annual-fall-one-day-retreat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/tartan-news\/2013\/09\/23\/campus-ministry-to-host-its-annual-fall-one-day-retreat\/","title":{"rendered":"Campus Ministry to host its annual fall one-day retreat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Campus Ministry is hosting a special engagement for the women who attend and work at Sinclair Community College on Saturday, Oct. 5.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jane Steinhauser, who is an interfaith campus minister for Sinclair\u2019s Campus Ministry, will lead the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe retreat will focus on exploring what feeds the spiritual need of each participant,\u201d Steinhauser said in an email. \u201cWe will spend time discussing dimensions of the deeper spiritual self, options for nurturing that self and connecting more to the \u2018holy\u2019 life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said during this event, women will have the opportunity to come together spiritually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen live differently than men and it\u2019s important for women to come together,\u201d Steinhauser said. \u201cThis is a time for women to come together and look deeper inside spiritually and share their faith and may also find a special meaning to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Women have attended this retreat for years, but for Steinhauser, three women stand out vividly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have witnessed three special women who have taken this retreat to heart and have come back repeatedly for 28 years,\u201d Steinhauser said. \u201cThey find it invaluable to share with women the issues in life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This retreat will give focus to feeding the feminine spirit and discovering a deeper meaning to the lives women live.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If I don\u2019t take care of myself, I am useless to everyone and this is why I take this time to look deeper spiritually,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Participants may bring anything they would like as a topping for salad, such as croutons, bacon bits, cheese etc., Steinhauser will be providing the lettuce and salad dressing. Register early, because space is limited.<\/p>\n<p>Name, address, city, zip code, phone number and email are required for registration. Admission is $20 and attendees should make checks payable to Campus Ministry and mail to 444 W.
