Downtown Dayton Thursday Night continues with the Sinclair Community College Theatre Department\u2019s April 11 presentation of \u201cGodspell.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tickets for the 7 p.m. showing of \u201cGodspell\u201d in Blair Hall Theatre cost an additional $5. Regularly, it is $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. The event will include pre-show appetizers, starting at 6 p.m. and a cash bar.<\/p>\n
This one-time-only Thursday evening timeslot affords a new opportunity for community members, downtown Dayton-area workers and students to experience the theatre.<\/p>\n
Sinclair Theatre Publicity Specialist Patti Celek said this early evening showing serves as an alternative chance for anyone who loves arts and culture activities to discover Sinclair Theatre, including those just getting off work downtown or high school students avoiding the restrictions of traditional field trips.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re already here \u2014 you\u2019re already parked. Why not take advantage of that? Bring a group of office friends or a group of student friends,\u201d Celek said.<\/p>\n
Celek described Thursday Nights as social occasions, with food, drinks and a party-like pre-show atmosphere.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone who discovers us comes back,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cGodspell,\u201d is a musical set in parables, featuring a mix of modern music and classical hymns. The play, based on the Gospel of Matthew, is a modern take on the story of Jesus and the disciples. The Sinclair Theatre production of \u201cGodspell\u201d is directed by Kimberly Borst, who also directed this season\u2019s production of \u201cA Plague of Angels.\u201d<\/p>\n
