MASON – What better way to celebrate President’s Day than with a visit from your college president?<\/p>\n

Sinclair Community College President Dr. Steven Johnson visited the Courseview campus in Mason on Monday, Feb. 16. Courseview is a Sinclair satellite campus that opened in September of 2007.<\/p>\n

The ear of the president<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It’s an informal opportunity for the president to meet students and faculty at the satellite locations,” said Johnson’s Chief of Staff Madeline Iseli.<\/p>\n

Johnson spent a little over an hour in the student lounge listening to student’s experiences. Students in attendance called the event a big success.<\/p>\n

“I think it was really good for him to come down here and show us he really has a vested interest in the students and what’s going on at this college,” said education student Sarah Weber.<\/p>\n

“I thought it was awesome,” said Courseview student Glenn Meiers. “I am very glad to meet the leadership of the college. That shows me there’s a legitimate concern for the facility and the plans for the future in Warren County especially.”<\/p>\n

Success in Warren County<\/strong><\/p>\n

Warren County offers the Sinclair brand a wealth of students hungry for higher education.<\/p>\n

“The need for higher education in Warren County is real,” said George Sehi, executive dean for the Courseview campus. “I think there are success stories here that need to be shared with the president.”<\/p>\n

Sehi said that Warren County has welcomed Sinclair with open arms.<\/p>\n

“We have exceeded expectations, however you look at it – from the quality or quantity,” said Sehi. “The campus is growing. We opened in 2007 with 345 students. Today, as we talk, we have 705 students enrolled, soon to reach 1,000 students.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
