A chapter of the Young Americans for Liberty club is trying to get started this semester at Sinclair Community College.<\/p>\n

Charter Club President Joshua Hail said the club is still in the formation process.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve only had one meeting at this point, so we\u2019re still in the forming status,\u201d Hail said. \u201cAt this point, we have eight members and we need two more for official recognition from the school; which hopefully by the time our next meeting comes around, we hope to obtain those members.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mission statement of Young Americans for Liberty is “to identify, educate, train and mobilize youth activists committed to \u2018winning on principle.\u2019 Our goal is to cast the leaders of tomorrow and reclaim the policies, candidates and direction of our government.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hail wants the student body to know that there are multiple options when it comes to politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started it because I felt that the student body and the campus needs to know that we have other options besides just Democrat or Republican, that the political spectrum isn\u2019t just black and white,\u201d Hail said.<\/p>\n

Daniel Bloomingdale, Charter Vice President of the forming club said it could give people the chance to educate themselves on other political parties.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The club] could be really informative and [will] really give people a real chance to explore their actual political views, because in current society all we have are either your right or your left but really there\u2019s a lot in between. There\u2019s a lot of Centralists, there\u2019s a lot of Libertarians \u2014 there\u2019s a lot of people that aren\u2019t voting for candidates they really like,\u201d Bloomingdale said.<\/p>\n

The club has no official affiliation with a specific political party.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re not Republican, we\u2019re not Democrat, we\u2019re not Libertarian; we\u2019re just a group of individuals trying to educate people and inform people. We don\u2019t support any candidates or anything like [that],\u201d Hail said.<\/p>\n
