{"id":6296,"date":"2011-04-11T12:00:05","date_gmt":"2011-04-11T17:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/?p=6296"},"modified":"2011-04-08T15:12:41","modified_gmt":"2011-04-08T20:12:41","slug":"6296","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/tartan-news\/2011\/04\/11\/6296\/","title":{"rendered":"Giambrone not shy about athletic goals for Sinclair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sinclair Community College Athletic Director Jack Giambrone doesn\u2019t like to lose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t tell [men\u2019s basketball coach Jeff] Price to get close,\u201d Giambrone said.\u00a0 \u201cI tell him to win.\u00a0 I want to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he likes hearing the things that baseball coach Steve Dintaman said prior to the start of the baseball season about the goal of his club being to win a national championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a coach, our job is to win,\u201d Giambrone said.<\/p>\n<p>However, Giambrone also makes it clear that in order to win, other things must happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t do school as a serious commitment, you don\u2019t play,\u201d Giambrone said.<\/p>\n<p>Student-athletes at Sinclair are expected to be active in the community and successful in the classroom, according to Giambrone.\u00a0 If they fail in either regard, they won\u2019t play.
