{"id":6115,"date":"2011-03-07T12:00:32","date_gmt":"2011-03-07T17:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/?p=6115"},"modified":"2014-05-20T13:24:07","modified_gmt":"2014-05-20T18:24:07","slug":"emergency-text-message-service-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/tartan-news\/2011\/03\/07\/emergency-text-message-service-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency text message service now available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sinclair Community College\u2019s Public Safety Department recently announced a new \u201cEmergency Communication Service\u201d to help keep students, staff and faculty on campus informed of closings or delays.<\/p>\n<p>Administrative Lieutenant Scott Fowler said in an e-mail the announcements come via text message and will include \u201cemergency closings, emergencies on campus, weather-related closings or delays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, \u201ccollege events and college news will not be available\u201d through the service, according to Fowler.<\/p>\n<p>There also will be no advertisements or spam whatsoever, according to Fowler.\u00a0 In addition, the service, in conjunction with Nixle.com, is entirely free.\u00a0 It costs nothing to sign up and both the department and the college have no costs.
