Why is it considered unlucky?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Superstitions are among some of the most intriguing aspects of any culture, and few are as well-known as those surrounding Friday the 13th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2026, Friday the 13th will pass three times. One already passed in February, with the two others landing in March and November. This is one of the earliest examples of the superstition surrounding the number 13. To this day, some hotels skip the number 13 in their floor levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13 is considered an unlucky number in Christianity, stemming from the 13 guests attending the Last Supper, including Judas. This is referenced in the painting of the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12, on the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudy.org\/bibleref\/meaning-of-numbers-in-bible\/12.html\">is considered a lucky number in Christian culture<\/a>, referenced 189 times throughout the Bible. Friday was once considered the day of Venus, the goddess of love, though this was later suppressed by the Catholic Church in an effort to vilify Paganism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Norse myth also tells the story of the 12 gods attending a dinner party in the land of Valhalla, where the trickster god Loki sneaks in, making 13 attendants. The film is one of the most popular in the horror genre, centering on the story of a masked killer who committed murder sprees on the unlucky day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday the 13th isn\u2019t the only \u201ccursed\u201d date, however. In some Hispanic cultures, Tuesday the 13th is considered unlucky, while Friday the 17th is bad luck in Italy.
