Downtown Centerville is now becoming Uptown. Not only is the city adding a lot of new public parking, but the area is soon to be beaming with fresh new restaurants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the city of Centerville\u2019s website, \u201cThe Uptown Action Plan<\/a> highlights six focus areas: improving walkability and reducing traffic congestion, improving parking, scheduling and organizing new events, focusing on business development, developing branding and increasing greenspace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city’s main focus right now is to get the parking situation under control. There is a new lot being built behind Manna, a restaurant that just recently opened. Hopefully, this will help customers to get to the new restaurants coming to the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manna<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manna has the same owner as the Salar restaurant in the Oregon District. It offers French and Peruvian cuisine. According to the website<\/a>, \u201cThis is where sustenance and pleasure meet. Manna offers a taste of modern Europe and South America to any who extend a wanting hand. We aim to honor the artistry of the chefs and bar makers who’ve inspired us while defying tradition alongside expectation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does appear to be a more upscale restaurant. You can see one of the wine cellars through the window. The building has been painted white with black trim and goes nicely with the aesthetic of the other restaurants making their way in.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Agave and Rye<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agave and Rye<\/a>, a taco and tequila restaurant, just recently opened its doors and has been booming with business since day one. According to Dayton.com<\/a>, \u201cAgave & Rye first opened its doors in 2018 in Covington, Kentucky. Additional area locations include Troy and Liberty Township. The restaurant is also planning to open a new location in Hamilton at the intersection of Main Street and South East Street, which formerly housed Ritzi\u2019s Service Station.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restaurant sits 100 people outside and 158 inside. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat and the service is friendly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meridien<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the street we can expect to see Meridien open its doors this fall with small plates and wine. The owner, Rhonda Hiatt, stated that, \u201cRather than \u2018a bar experience,\u2019 of which there are many in the region, she said, the couple wants Meridien to be \u2018a place where community and culture can kind of intersect.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Dayton Daily News<\/a>, they plan on offering cocktails, wine and small plates from around the world. It will be exciting to have a charcuterie board place near by.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also work on the Brunch Pub. Dayton Daily News reported on what we can expect. The owner, Ali Bas, says the mean is going to have \u201ccomfort\u201d food with influences from Italy, France, and American cooking traditions. There will be a coffeehouse, dessert bar, live entertainment and an outside area with corn hole available. There is also a proposed \u201cpub and grub\u201d area that could feature pool tables and darts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
