Don\u2019t throw your kneepads and shin guards away just yet. Although Sinclair athletics are in
jeopardy, there are plenty of local places to get your athletics needs met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, Sinclair athletics shut down for safety issues. Almost three years later, the future of
their comeback is still uncertain. Back in June, the Clarion wrote an article titled \u201cThe Scoop on
Sinclair Sports\u201d<\/a>, which provided insight into the future of sports and why they are at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost six months later, the fate of Sinclair athletics is still just as uncertain. Until a
decision is made about the future of sports, here are a few places that offer the opportunity to
play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dayton Sports Complex<\/a> offers multiple deals for athletes. Tennis lessons are offered
for people for all ages. There is a soccer league ending Jan. 13 and a lacrosse league beginning in
December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can also rent out basketball, volleyball and tennis courts as well as batting cages
and soccer turf. No membership required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Olympics Dayton<\/a> offers year-round training and competition. The Special
Olympics are open to everyone with an intellectual disability, no matter the degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleven sports are offered including track and field, swimming and bowling. Participants
can play as many sports as they wish at no charge. Any participants over the age of 8 can practice and compete. Those younger than 8-years-old can only participate in practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gem City Social Sports<\/a> offers numerous opportunities to play and meet new people. The
sports rotate every few months, so there is always an option for something new.
Some of the upcoming events include ugly sweater axe throwing and a bowling league.
Pricing for each event varies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Metro Sports<\/a> has an ice rink for hockey and figure skating and court houses for
basketball and volleyball. There are open gyms for most sports where visitors can practice and
work with others to enhance skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A performance enhancement center provides different types of training like strength and
flexibility training. Along with this, South Metro Sports also hosts \u201cFit Chicks Boot Camp\u201d
which is meant to empower women in their fitness journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices will vary for events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the future of Sinclair athletics is not promised, there are plenty of opportunities
in the community to continue playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
