The event is being organized in partnership with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.givingblood.org\">Community Blood Center<\/a> and Phi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptk.org\">Theta Kappa.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors can look forward to special \u2018Giving is Good\u2019 T-shirts and time at the donor caf\u00e9 afterward. To donate, interested parties are required to provide a photo ID, be at least 17, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDonating is an easy way people can help others. It takes very little time and the effort is far outweighed by its impact,\u201d said \u00a0Brandon Johnson, Administrative Assistant for the college\u2019s Phi Theta Kappa branch. \u201cWhat may amount to as little as 25 minutes of someone\u2019s time can make a major difference, even save a life, especially in times of need.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drive, according to Johnson, is usually held approximately two times a year. Volunteers from PTK help run the donor caf\u00e9, where participants can relax and raise their blood sugar after donating.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a really great chance for students to interact with each other as well as members of faculty in a relaxed environment,\u201d he said. \u201c It\u2019s a nice way for people to socialize and even for PTK members to come together.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Community Blood Center, April has been a difficult month due to spring break and Easter holiday closings. Type O, according to the center, remains in low supply. They are calling on members of the public to donate at least three times in 2022. In addition to blood, the center is asking for donations of platelets, plasma, and double red cells.
