She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/actor\/audrey-hepburn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was a British citizen<\/a> and attended school in England. She experienced hardship as she lived through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/world-war-ii\/world-war-ii-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World War II<\/a>. She studied ballet as a child, and later, acting as an adult. She starred in the Broadway show \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.broadway.com\/shows\/gigi-broadway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gigi<\/a>\u201d in 1951. She reached Hollywood in 1953 as she starred in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/roman_holiday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Roman Holiday<\/a>.\u201d A year later, she took a Broadway role once again in \u201cOndine,\u201d which won her a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonyawards.com\/history\/our-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tony Award<\/a>. She would go on to also win <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/art\/Emmy-Award#:~:text=Emmy%20Award%2C%20any%20of%20the,camera%20tube%20used%20in%20television.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Emmy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicianshalloffame.com\/history-of-the-grammy-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grammy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/art\/Academy-Award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Academy<\/a> awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hepburn was seen in movies such as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/1018047-sabrina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sabrina<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0050419\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Funny Face<\/a>\u201d in the 1950s. She played in some of her most famous roles in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OPQkbvo99Ug\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Breakfast at Tiffany\u2019s<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZJBM6qs22sE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Fair Lady<\/a>\u201d in 1961 and 1964, respectively. She took a break from acting to raise her family in the late \u201860s and did not return for nearly a decade. Alongside acting, Hepburn was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lofficiel.at\/en\/art%20&amp;%20culture\/audrey-hepburn-and-her-influence-in-fashion#:~:text=Audrey%20Hepburn%20was%20a%20friend,present%20before%20the%20sales%20started.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">major fashion icon<\/a>, as many followed her style. She also became an ambassador for UNICEF in the 1980s, advocating for children who had extreme needs. Ball continued to work, however, as she moved to Hollywood and earned small movie roles. On set, she met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/actor\/desi-arnaz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Desi Arnaz<\/a>, her future husband and \u201cI Love Lucy\u201d co-star. The sitcom began in 1951 and ran until 1957, proving to be very popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ball later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/actor\/lucille-ball\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">became the first woman in charge of a major TV production company<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Desilu-Productions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Desilu Productions<\/a>. She went on to star in \u201cI Love Lucy\u201d spinoffs and guest roles on other famous shows. She won four Emmy Awards in her career and is honored in the <a href=\"http:\/\/televisionacademy.com\/awards\/hall-of-fame\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Television Hall of Fame<\/a>. Ball was also given the <a href=\"https:\/\/irtsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Radio and Television Society Gold Medal<\/a> in 1971, being the first woman to achieve this honor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grace Kelly&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace Kelly was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/actor\/grace-kelly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">born into a wealthy family<\/a> in Philadelphia on Nov. 12, 1929. Kelly enjoyed acting as a child, taking part in school productions. She was influenced by her two uncles who were in show business and guided her to the start of her career. As a young woman, Kelly moved to New York City and took classes at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aada.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Academy of Dramatic Arts<\/a>. While receiving her education, she worked as a model on the side. She eventually moved to California where she starred in her first film, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0043560\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fourteen Hours<\/a>\u201d in 1951.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelly achieved great success as an actor, starring opposite famous actors such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clark Gable<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001078\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bing Crosby<\/a>. She won an Academy Award in 1954 for her role in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0046874\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Country Girl<\/a>.\u201d Kelly was a top-paid Hollywood actor when she met Monaco\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Rainier-III-prince-de-Monaco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prince Rainier the III<\/a>. The two were married on April 19, 1956, giving Kelly the real-life role of a princess. Kelly left her acting career to pursue a new life as a wife and mother of three children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Debbie Reynolds&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/actor\/debbie-reynolds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Born as Mary Frances Reynolds<\/a>, Debbie Reynolds was born in El Paso, Texas, on April 1, 1932. Reynolds was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Debbie-Reynolds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">found by a Warner Bros. scout<\/a> as she took part in beauty pageants. Reynolds first appeared in smaller roles, but reached her fame when she starred in the 1952 musical, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/singin_in_the_rain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Singin\u2019 in the Rain<\/a>.\u201d From here, she began to appear in more films and starred across big names such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sinatra.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Frank Sinatra<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001813\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dick Van Dyke<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reynolds was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0058708\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Unsinkable Molly Brown<\/a>\u201d in 1964. She also had her own show, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/interviews.televisionacademy.com\/shows\/debbie-reynolds-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Debbie Reynolds Show<\/a>\u201d that ran from 1969-70. Reynolds took on Broadway in 1973 with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.playbill.com\/production\/irene-minskoff-theatre-vault-0000002373\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Irene<\/a>\u201d and again with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1983\/02\/28\/theater\/stage-debbie-reynolds-in-woman-of-the-year.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Woman of the Year<\/a>\u201d in 1983. She continued acting into the 1990s and 2000s. At the age of three, she was placed in dance lessons. Soon, she was discovered by film producers who led her to her start in acting. Temple\u2019s first Hollywood appearance took place in the film, \u201cCarolina,\u201d when she was six-years-old. Temple went on to star in many more films as a child, proving to have talent in not just dancing and acting, but singing as well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Temple received the name \u201cLittle Miss Miracle\u201d from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/about-the-white-house\/presidents\/franklin-d-roosevelt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">President Franklin Roosevelt<\/a>, as her films helped to lift people up during the time of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/great-depression\/great-depression-history#:~:text=The%20Great%20Depression%20was%20the,wiped%20out%20millions%20of%20investors.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Great Depression<\/a>. Her stepfather and mother were both of musical talent, and Andrews proved to have this ability as well. Her family found out that her vocal cord strength was equal to an adult\u2019s when she was just eight-years-old. She received success on the stage when she was 12 and several years later, went to the United States to star on Broadway. She received her first Tony nomination for her lead role in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.playbill.com\/article\/look-back-at-julie-andrews-and-rex-harrison-in-my-fair-lady-on-broadway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Fair Lady<\/a>\u201d in 1956.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrews went on to film in the 1960s with her most well-known roles in the musicals \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YfkEQDPlb8g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mary Poppins\u201d<\/a> and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sound-of-music.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Sound of Music<\/a>.\u201d The latter won her an Academy Award nomination while she won the award for \u201cMary Poppins.\u201d In 1997, she underwent surgery that resulted in the damage of her vocal cords, causing a decline in her singing skills.
