A new year means new goals and resolutions, but it also comes with stress and lack of motivation for the\u00a0changes you might want to make.

Sinclair Community College<\/a> is committed to keeping everyone safe as well as providing\u00a0assistance to take care of students and their mental health. Therefore, in the upcoming weeks Sinclair will be hosting multiple virtual events to welcome both the new year and spring semester.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With most classes being remote and spending more time on phones and electronics, the risk of being\u00a0 hacked has never been higher. On Thursday, Jan. 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Sinclair will be hosting a\u00a0 virtual meeting with Christy Mauch from The Better Business Bureau<\/a> to talk about common scams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a college student comes with stress and managing that stress can interfere with the class work\u00a0 needing to be done. Counseling and <\/a>Accessibility Services<\/a> are hosting a zoom meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12\u00a0 between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only are there licensed counselors and services for students and staff to talk to, but there are also tips and tricks to help manage the stress.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who are first-year students at Sinclair and want to be a part of a club or student work to be actively engaged and familiar with the community, on\u00a0Jan. 14 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. there will be a Student Group Membership Fair where information will be given about the different club opportunities Sinclair has to offer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, on Jan. 14, Sinclair will be hosting a Lost (and found) Dayton: Connecting Our Past to our Future, for those who are interested in learning more about the history of Dayton. Dayton has lost landmarks and new architecture that is \u201creborn\u00a0for a new era.\u201d This meeting will be between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., hosted by Andrew Walsh.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinclair welcomes new students into the new year, there are more events and plans ahead for the semester and the Clarion is here to inform you of those events.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
