According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aiuniv.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"American Intercontinental University (opens in a new tab)\">American Intercontinental University<\/a>, exercise has numerous benefits besides relieving stress, including stimulating brain cell development, improving memory, increasing focus and concentration and boosting mood. Even if it\u2019s going for a walk with the dog or bowling, your mental health will be improved if you take 20-30 minutes or more a day and exercise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\tExercise has also been proven to reduce the risk of illness and can also help college students set a schedule and routine. It can also help curb cravings and empower you to eat a healthy diet. Injuries can obviously occur and certain health issues can occur while exercising as well. It\u2019s important to take precautions before exercising by consulting with your doctor. However, exercising is one of the many ways you can stay healthy and be successful in college. So many diseases can go around and problems with life can occur in college, so it is important to take care of yourself while in college.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone wants to be the best version of themselves and exercise will help you achieve that. There are several area gyms, Y\u2019s and even here at Sinclair we have our own gym.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, that\u2019s right! In Building 8, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sinclair.edu\/student-life\/wellness\/physical-activities-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"there is a pool, weight room and many more ways that people can use to get active while they are at Sinclair (opens in a new tab)\">there is a pool, weight room and many more ways that people can use to get active while they are at Sinclair<\/a>. It is only $5 per semester for students, $10 for faculty per semester and $30.00 for faculty for the entire academic year. Sinclair even has fitness classes, including yoga, pilates, strength training, aquatic exercise and many more. You can also walk, jog or bike to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.metroparks.org\/places-to-go\/riverscape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" Riverscape Metropark (opens in a new tab)\"> Riverscape Metropark<\/a>, as it is only 1 mile from campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting fit in college is just one way to keep a healthy lifestyle and succeed, not just in college but in life after college as well. Exercising in college can also be the beginning of the prevention of cancers or heart disease that one could have in the future.
