\u201cthis is a day when we put politics aside to focus on honoring our veterans and to recommit ourselves as a community to providing them with the services they have earned, the services they deserve and for many, the services they were denied,\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nFor the 100th Veteran\u2019s Day, a parade will be held in New York CIty to commemorate a century of paying tribute to the veterans. President Trump himself will be attending, the next in a long line of presidential visits to commemorate those in the armed forces. Other notable ones in recent times include Barack Obama spending the day with troops on board the USS Carl Vinson in 2011 and George W. Bush devoting his time at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in NYC in 2008.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So whether you attend a local parade, or simply stop to say \u201cthank you\u201d to someone who served, don\u2019t allow this Veteran\u2019s Day to just be another step on the way to Christmas. This week take some time to reflect and be grateful for the blood sweat and tears that these brave men and women endured for the sake of our nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
