It can not be 100% verified, but has been featured in several news articles with no debunking as of this writing. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">Megan Betts, the 22-year-old sister of the Oregon District shooter Conor Betts, was one of the nine people killed in the August 4 shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an investigation done by <a href=\"https:\/\/splinternews.com\/friends-say-that-sibling-murdered-by-dayton-shooter-was-1837035664\">Splinter News<\/a>, it was revealed that Betts is a transgender man who kept his identity very close to the vest and was only outed to those very close to him. As of this writing, it appears that his gender identity was not a motivating factor in his death, as his family was not aware of his status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> He went by Jordan Cofer, and a search for the name on social media will reveal this. His Tumblr account identifies him as a &#8220;&#8230;ace poly trans boy with a loving heart and way too much work to do.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJordan was my closest friend,\u201d said an anonymous friend of Cofer to Splinter. \u201cHe identified with he\/him pronouns to people he trusted and knew would support him. Jordan was probably one of the sweetest people you would ever meet, a true saint, but he was also very scared constantly.
