Sinclair Community College received a noticeable makeover during summer break.<\/p>\n
Improvements to several areas of the campus occurred, including the parking garage, the Building 6 loading dock and the Building 13 Snack Bar.<\/p>\n
Liz Verzi, manager of Facilities, Planning and Construction at Sinclair, said the parking garage was given a new waterproof seal. The garage columns and beams also received attention.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery year we do a parking garage project,\u201d she said. \u201cWe started with the top levels and we\u2019re moving down. You have to do maintenance on this stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Verzi said the renovations to the bathrooms in Building 3, 4 and 6 are the beginning of a complete overhaul of the bathrooms on campus.<\/p>\n
\u201c(The renovations) will be phased throughout the years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Sinclair\u2019s Preble County site was also completed and is ready to open its doors.<\/p>\n
Verzi said the school worked on $6.5 million worth of projects over the summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of projects got put on hold because of the recession,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Verzi said something must to be done about the Sinclair Bookstore.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s dated,\u201d she said about the Building 7 store. \u201cThat\u2019s something big we\u2019re looking at doing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lot of different ideas,\u201d Verzi said. \u201cWe\u2019ll probably go and look at bookstores at other campuses and see what works.\u201d<\/p>\n
