\u00a0 \u00a0Thanksgiving is coming up later this week, and it\u2019s an opportunity for us to gather together with friends and family and recognize the value of everything around us. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0For some, the highlight is the copious amount of homemade food they\u2019ll be eating for at least a week after Thanksgiving. Some revel in the absolute chaos of Black Friday shopping. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Yet, what are some of Sinclair friends thankful for? What do they hold in high regard during this time? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Nursing student Jasmine Hardaway holds her support group on campus and her family in high regard during this time. Kevin Slay is also thankful for the time he gets to spend with his friends and family. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0William O\u2019Brien is a computer science major that is thankful for the friends and family that help him hold out hope that things will always work out in the end. Dominic Petry gives thanks to something else in addition to his great friends and supportive family: sleep. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Jack Keeton, a theatre performance major, is thankful for his significant other. Lionel Nsilvlv is grateful for the ability to have second chances and a fresh start through each phase of his life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Then there are some who take time to recognize the things we take for granted and appreciate them this month. David Ellington is one of those people, and reflects on what he\u2019s thankful for:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cFor learning how to be able to go to school and learn to pursue my education,\u201d Ellington said. \u201cI\u2019m also grateful to have my beautiful kids and family by my side.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0One student looked inward to her ability to have a positive perspective on life. Jasmine Knox gives thanks for the opportunity to be with her family that supports her and her ability to \u201csee the good in things when things aren\u2019t so good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0With Thanksgiving comes many things to be thankful for, and many varied traditions. One such tradition has become quite popular recently: Friendsgiving.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Friendsgiving has recently taken over millennial culture, according to the Atlantic. The newfound holiday usually celebrated on the Wednesday before or the Friday after Thanksgiving is the tradition of celebrating thankfulness and sharing a Thanksgiving dinner together with your close friends. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Some people also celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, which is a celebration of the harvest and blessings from the previous year and has been celebrated on the second Monday of October since 1879.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0However you choose to celebrate, all these traditions have the united theme of being together with the people you love, sharing some good food, and appreciating the things and people in your life that you are thankful for.<\/span><\/p>\n
