\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cAvengers: Infinity War\u201d comes out in theaters on Apr. 27, 2018. The film is the 19th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is the sequel to both \u201cThe Avengers\u201d (2012) and \u201cAvengers: Age of Ultron\u201d (2015). Several actors and actresses from previous MCU movies will reprise their roles in this film, which is the culmination of a 10 year plot that started with \u201cIron Man\u201d in 2008. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0An announcement back in 2014 revealed that the project was originally titled \u201cAvengers: Infinity War – Part 1\u201d as it was supposed to expand to another film. However, in July 2016, Marvel chopped off the ending and started referring to it as just \u201cAvengers: Infinity War.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0The decision was made to erase the confusion within the fanbase that the movie will be a single story broken into two parts, which Kevin Feige, the producer, rebukes by saying that \u201cit\u2019s going to be two distinct movies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Screen\u00a0 \u00a0The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed previous MCU films \u201cCaptain America: The Winter Soldier\u201d and \u201cCaptain America: Civil War.\u201d They will return for the untitled sequel to \u201cInfinity War,\u201d which is slated for a tentative release on May 3, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0The screenplay is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The score is composed by Alan Silvestri, who also did the score for \u201cThe Avengers\u201d and will return to do so for the next part of \u201cInfinity War.\u201d He began composing the movie\u2019s score in January 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0As of now, the plotline is set four years after \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2\u201d and the Avengers have since broken up after the events of \u201cCaptain America: Civil War.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Thanos, the main antagonist, arrives to collect items known as Infinity Stones in order to power a gauntlet that will allow him to bend reality. Five of the six Infinity Stones have been introduced in previous Marvel movies, each having tremendous power on their own. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Screen\u00a0 \u00a0They include the Space Stone, which is held inside the Tesseract from the first Avengers film, the Mind Stone, contained by Vision, the Reality Stone, in possession of The Collector, the Power Stone, from \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d and the Time Stone, owned and used by Doctor Strange. The Soul Stone is the final stone, which is speculated to be the most powerful of the stones, but hasn\u2019t appeared in any MCU films yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0The Avengers reunite and are joined by the Guardians of the Galaxy along with several others. Guest starring heroes such as Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, and their supporting casts will help form a star studded cast of over 30 actors and actresses in this film. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0The film follows Thanos\u2019s quest to gather the stones for his gauntlet and The Avengers attempts to stop him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Anthony Russo, one of the directors, stated that \u201cInfinity War\u201d is inspired by 1990\u2019s heist films as Thanos goes \u201con a smash-and-grab, and everybody\u2019s trying to catch up the whole movie.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Filming began in early 2017 and mostly concluded on July. 14 of the same year. Later in July the other director, Joe Russo, stated there were unfinished scenes at that point that would be completed in the following months. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Screen\u00a0 \u00a0The marketing helped bolster the energy for the film as, due to two convention presentations, over 90,000 conversations cropped up on social media between July. 17-23, falling just behind \u201cThor: Ragnarok\u201d and \u201cJustice League.\u201d By Oct. 16, the total amount of social media conversation generated surrounding the film rose all the way to 679,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Following the release of the movie\u2019s trailer, it broke 230 million views within its 24 hours online, surpassing the record \u201cIt\u201d had set during the time period. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0In Dec. 2017, Fandango held a survey that indicated that \u201cInfinity War\u201d was going to be 2018\u2019s most anticipated film. Early box office projections as of March. 2018 show that the film should gross $200-235 million during its opening weekend in the United States and Canada and between $490-590 million for its total domestic gross.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cAvengers: Infinity War\u201d is the first part of the culmination of the Infinity Stones story arc, which began with the first Iron Man film in 2008. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0Each subsequent film has had ties to the previous installments and laid groundwork for the next titles in the series. This was a practice that was fairly new, and inspired many other Cinematic Universes, such as the DC Comics Multiverse, and the Universal Monsterverse.<\/span><\/p>\n
