While there was less than a year between the release of the \u201cMaze Runner\u201d and \u201cMaze Runner: The Scorch Trials\u201d films, the difference between the sequel and \u201cThe Death Cure\u201d is around two and a half years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0The delay in release is due to an accident regarding the star Dylan O\u2019Brien being wounded on set by a car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0The \u201cMaze Runner\u201d trilogy is based on novels of the same name written by James Dashner. The original novel was released on Oct. 7, 2009. \u201cThe Scorch Trials\u201d was published on Sept. 18, 2010 with the finale, \u201cThe Death Cure,\u201d coming out on Oct. 11, 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0As for the plot of the series, it all begins with a boy named Thomas arriving in a place known as the Glade. Inside is a group of boys that refer to themselves as Gladers with only one goal in mind: to get through the Maze inside their current home and escape from their confinement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0The problems are numerous, ranging from the fact the Maze is constantly shifting and reforming itself, to the monsters that roam the Maze known as Grievers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0The Gladers have no memory of their lives outside of the Glade and are only able to remember basic skills such as language and their own name. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0When the first female to ever enter the Glade enters with a note reading that she will be the final arrival, everything begins to change for the Gladers. The sun vanishes, people start to act strange and supplies cease to be delivered. These are stark differences from the daily life the older Gladers have grown used to. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0However \u201cThe Maze Runner\u201d series isn\u2019t Dashner\u2019s first time dabbling into this type of story. Dashner\u2019s previous series called \u201cThe 13th Reality\u201d had its first book \u201cThe Journal of Curious Letters\u201d released a year before \u201cThe Maze Runner\u201d hit shelves. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0After that, both series arrived on shelves with the rest of \u201cThe 13th Reality\u201d books coming out in 2009, 2010 and 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17616\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Screen-Shot-2018-01-05-at-1.24.55-PM.tif?w=2716\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 1.24.55 PM.tif\" width=\"1358\" height=\"562\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cThe 13th Reality\u201d kicks off with a young boy named Atticus \u201cTick\u201d Higginbottom receiving a letter from Alaska from a mysterious person known only as \u2018M.G.\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0Learning about a tragedy that may fall upon reality itself, Higginbottom takes up the call of solving riddles from future letters as well as gaining companions on his journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0Both Dashner\u2019s series have been well received by audiences and critics alike. One review by Kirkus Reviews said \u201cThe Maze Runner\u201d is \u201chard to put down.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0Kirkus Reviews also talked about \u201cThe 13th Reality.\u201d They referred to it as \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the start of a series that will capture the imagination of young and old alike.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0Dashner was born on Nov. 26, 1972 in Austell, Georgia. He is one of six children and attended Duluth High School and Brigham Young University in Utah. He received his master\u2019s degree in accounting there. His wife Lynette and him now live in Utah with their four children.
