Everyone wants to be good at something, and a lot of times that something involves arts and crafts.<\/span><\/p>\n Why? Because it\u2019s easy to get into, easy to get access to ideas and easy to express yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n That doesn\u2019t always mean you\u2019re going to be good at it though. Some people just don\u2019t have the crafty genes, but that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t try.<\/span><\/p>\n First, you need to come up with an idea on what you\u2019re going to be crafting. What better place to look than Pinterest.<\/span><\/p>\n Pinterest has literally any DIY idea you can think up. Get on there and start searching whatever words flow from your fingertips.<\/span><\/p>\n Go ahead and create a board for all these great craft ideas you\u2019ve found that you know you\u2019re never going to try. Just stockpile them all and tell yourself it\u2019s for a \u201crainy day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Once you\u2019ve decided on a project, it\u2019s time to take a trip to one of the greatest stores on the planet \u2013 Michael\u2019s! It\u2019s an arts and crafts store, but there\u2019s also Hobby Lobby.<\/span><\/p>\n This is going to be your new favorite place to shop whether you decide you want to be crafty or not. There\u2019s just so much inspiration and so little motivation.<\/span><\/p>\n Anyway, you should get all your crafting supplies here including the unnecessary ones that have nothing to do with your project.<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019ll need all the pretty scrapbook paper you can find even though you don\u2019t scrapbook (but might someday, or will find another use for it.) You\u2019ll also need Mod Podge and washi tape because they are the Adam and Eve of craft projects.<\/span><\/p>\n Don\u2019t forget things like yarn, watercolor paints and modeling clay. Why? Because they look fun, and you want to try everything at least once.<\/span><\/p>\n You have plenty of supplies and ideas to choose from, but how do you know where to start?<\/span><\/p>\n Small! That\u2019s where you start.<\/span><\/p>\n Choose a project that requires minimal effort. I would say a children\u2019s project, like paper bag puppets, is a nice craft to get you started.<\/span><\/p>\n You have all the supplies you need, and you won\u2019t be disappointed with the outcome because at least it\u2019ll be better than your kid\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n Once you accomplished and feel good about your beginner\u2019s project, you can move onto something a bit more advanced.<\/span><\/p>\n Do something with all that washi tape you just bought. You can washi tape pretty much anything. I saw a DIY for washi tape pencils once.<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019ll eventually find yourself in the realm of painting and building things. This is great if you want to make a giant mess or hurt yourself. Be very careful here noobs.<\/span><\/p>\n Regardless of your crafting level or project, who cares what you make?<\/span><\/p>\n You shouldn\u2019t care if people care about your skills or final project.<\/span><\/p>\n Arts and crafts alike are just forms of expression and outlets for you to show off your style.<\/span><\/p>\n You don\u2019t have to be Martha Stewart to enjoy crafting.
