Meet\u2026<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Lori Cutright is a professor of Astronomy at Sinclair who loves the field she teaches. <\/span><\/p>\n

Why she is interesting\u2026<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Her passion for seeing students succeed in the learning environment is the pinnacle of her happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cutright received her Master\u2019s degree in Physics from the University of Indiana. Cutright has always had an interest in doing something pertaining to science. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI have a Master\u2019s degree in Physics from Indiana University, but I switched to Astrophysics to work on a Ph.D., which I never finished,\u201d said Cutright. <\/span><\/p>\n

Eventually, when Cutright needed a full-time job, a full-time faculty position would open and capture her attention. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI have been at Sinclair since 1992, so this is my 25th year,\u201d Cutright said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cutright has done much in the community by donating money to a variety of charities and offering her insight to those who display a passion for astronomy.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI donate to various charities such as the World Wildlife Fund, the Humane Society and SICSA, among others,\u201d Cutright explained. \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI am also interested in science literacy, so I do many public outreach activities with the local amateur astronomy group.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Family is something that is very important to Cutright, despite the distance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Cutright is very well educated and has a wealth of knowledge in her field, she does not consider herself to be in a profession. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am not really a professional physicist because I do not have a Ph.D. and I do not do research,\u201d Cutright said.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI also don\u2019t feel like an education major because my primary interest is in the subject, not how it is taught.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

She shows a great deal of humility in regards to her career. Even though her career and family are of great importance to her, Cutright is able to take for herself by focusing on the things she likes to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI like to garden, read science fiction, mystery and romance novels and play with my three cats,\u201d Cutright said.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI like watching Doctor Who, collecting rocks and minerals and collecting Breyer horse statues.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Cutright seemed excited to travel, seeing what the world has to offer. Her travels would also consist of her visiting her son and his wife. She hopes to one day have grandchildren to visit.<\/span><\/p>\n
