A new streaming service is coming to the Internet that is specially designed for film geeks and film lovers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turner Classic Movies has partnered up with Criterion Collection to create a streaming service of some of their movies and old classics and independents. <\/span><\/p>\n

The service is called FilmStruck and, according to the creators, it is made for film geeks, by film geeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will feature a comprehensive and constantly refreshed library of films comprised of an eclectic mix of contemporary and classic art house, indie, foreign and cult films. It will also be the exclusive home to the Criterion Collection. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Criterion Collection will run until November on Hulu, before becoming only available on FilmStruck.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to TCM, \u201cFilmStruck is the latest move in Turner\u2019s overall strategy to innovate beyond the traditional television ecosystem by providing rich viewing experiences that drive engagement across all platforms.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s tailor-made for the diehard movie enthusiast who craves a deep, intimate experience with independent, foreign, and art house films. And it takes advantage of TCM\u2019s powerful curation capabilities, as well as its proven track record in building a long-term relationship with passionate film fans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Turner Classic Movies president, Coleman Breland, FilmStruck will put together some of the greatest films and make them available for film lovers to stream.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTCM is leading Turner\u2019s strategic move into the direct-to-consumer business with a truly differentiated and distinct streaming product that adds tremendous value to our portfolio. Together with our partners at the Criterion Collection, we are creating a must-have, premium film brand that will draw from the most celebrated movie libraries in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The streaming service was due to launch last week, however, they delayed the release until November, so that they could work out some issues they had with subscription process.<\/span><\/p>\n

FilmStruck will feature films from major studios and also from independent distributors. It will give instant access to hard-to-find films and also critically acclaimed films.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be three subscription plans to choose from. One will be the FilmStruck monthly subscription of $6.99\/per month. The next one with offer FilmStruck and the Criterion Collection for a monthly fee of $10.99\/ per month. The last one is $99.00\/per year for FilmStruck and the Criterion Collection annually.<\/span><\/p>\n

FilmStruck will add new films weekly, so that there is always a different variety to choose from.<\/span><\/p>\n

The streaming service will be available on computers, Apple and Android phones and tablets, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV fourth generation and coming soon, Roku and Chromecast.<\/span><\/p>\n

FilmStruck will only be available in the United States for the time being.<\/span><\/p>\n

For any and all film geeks out there, this is streaming service that may appeal to you. FilmStruck is set to be released in November of this year and subscribers may sign up for a plan when it launches.<\/span><\/p>\n
