\nRacial slurs are like one of those things, some people are super sensitive to it and some people are just \u2018ehh\u2019 when they\u2019re around their friends. Personally, I am kind of against it, but it depends on whom I am with, like if they are offended by it I am not going to use it. I don\u2019t usually use it though. It\u2019s not a good thing\u2014its something that I don\u2019t think people should use or say. Some of my friends say it sometimes, but they don\u2019t intentionally say it to offend.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nI don\u2019t like it, but in today\u2019s society it\u2019s kind of confusing because some kids say it in the song and they don\u2019t really know what they are saying. Then there are some adults that know and it\u2019s just a bad thing and I don\u2019t like it. I don\u2019t think you have to tolerate it or be around it so I don\u2019t. If I hear people talk about it, even in my culture with the \u201cN\u201d word, and I try to touch down with black guys and tell them I don\u2019t want to hear it and I don\u2019t want to be around it. I grew up where we thought not to keep it around and nowadays its in songs so you keep hearing it. I just stay away from it because I don\u2019t like it. You hear it a lot in my neighborhoods. Believe it or not, today [people] throw the word around like its an acceptable word.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAs people we should educate ourselves on words in general. Especially, ignorant words and educate yourself on what the word means, like where it comes from, then people stop using it\u2014truth will set you free. Once you learn what the word really means and where it came from, then you\u2019ll stop using racial slurs in general.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThey are not helpful at all. I was raised by my mother and she said if you don\u2019t have anything nice to say then don\u2019t say anything at all. I think it puts people two steps back from what we are trying to accomplish and what our ancestors were trying to accomplish. I think if we would all just come together and get rid of some things\u2014its kind of like he said, she said\u2014its just better off without it. Just come together, be all for one. I try to keep peope [who use racial slurs] away from me. Positivity is the best thing. I go this way and they can go that way. <\/span><\/p>\n
