{"id":10795,"date":"2015-01-28T22:30:12","date_gmt":"2015-01-29T03:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/?p=10795"},"modified":"2015-01-29T13:21:55","modified_gmt":"2015-01-29T18:21:55","slug":"exhibity-creates-world-between-worlds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/tartan-news\/2015\/01\/28\/exhibity-creates-world-between-worlds\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibity creates world between worlds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/ArtGallery3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sinclairclarion.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/ArtGallery2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Casey Snyder, the current artistic focus of the Triangle Gallery, entices the memory with contradicting imagery and opposing realism in the current exhibit, Investigations of the Residual.<br \/>\n\u201cUsing duality, my work allows the viewer to recognize something they know and do not know at the same time,\u201d Snyder says.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cThrough contradiction, I am interested in prompting narrative while fictionalizing it.\u201d<br \/>\nSnyder received her Master\u2019s of Fine Arts at Kendall College of Art &#038; Design and her Bachelor of Fine Art at Ashland University.<br \/>\nEven before receiving her Master\u2019s in 2012, Snyder has been featured in numerous art exhibitions across the country since early 2010, including the Hillyer Art Space in Washington D.C. and the Academy of Fine Arts Annual National Juried Art Exhibition in Lynchburg, VA.<br \/>\n\u201cCasey Snyder\u2019s work was selected because of its bold use of color, the dynamic juxtaposition of visual elements, and the way in which mixed media is employed to transform representational images into abstract compositions,\u201d said Pat McClelland, art exhibit coordinator.<br \/>\n&#8220;Investigations of the Residual&#8221; draws upon many of Snyder\u2019s fundamental mediums of work creating a world between worlds.<br \/>\n\u201cA dialogue of opposites exists within my work, allowing the viewer moments of recognition, as well as isolation\u2013real and unreal,\u201d Snyder said.<br \/>\nMcClelland said students and professors have seemed fascinated by Snyder\u2019s exhibition.<br \/>\n\u201cNo artistic style appeals to everyone, but viewers seem mostly to respond favorably to the work,\u201d McClelland said.<br \/>\n\u201cProfessors of painting, drawing and art appreciation have had their classes visit the gallery and have commented about the quality of the work on exhibit.\u201d<br \/>\n  Snyder, who was born in Ohio, has since moved to D.C., where she has had a supportive and overwhelming response to her work. She said this connection is due in part to mutual interest and shared experience.<br \/>\n \u201cMy imagery has an echo of memory, narrative, history and pattern that feels shared.
