The event was hosted by a project at Sinclair that strives to foster an inclusive environment on campus known as Love Wins.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Petrey, honors program director at Sinclair, acted as<br \/>\nthe moderator of the panel discussion. Approximately<\/p>\n<p>50 students, along with a few attending staff and faculty, gathered for the talk. The chairs kept filling as the talk continued.<\/p>\n<p>Nancy Tepfer, representative for Parents, Friends, and Family of Lesbians and Gays more commonly know as PFLAG, was there to inform people about the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Several questions were presented such as; Do you have or want children? How do you deal with stereotypes?<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>\u201cThrough education and through people getting to know people instead of just knowing face value those stereotypes<br \/>\nwill eventually go away,\u201d said Anthony Cain, president of Brite Signal Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>Petrey asked the question, Did you have a coming out period?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you share a secret like this, it almost opens the doors to a deeper friendship,\u201d said Kara Brown, assistant professor in the computer information systems department.<\/p>\n<p>The Sinclair Talks concluded with some words from English Professor Kate Geiselman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that a lot of the questions asked by anyone in audience, regardless of gender or orientation, would have answered in the same way,\u201d said Geiselman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, Sept. 24, four panelists came together to talk about celebrating diversity in sexual orientation during a Sinclair Talk.
