Super Tuesday Recap: Biden Takes Back The Lead

ByTheClarion

Mar 10, 2020

Former Vice President Joe Biden took a close lead last Tuesday on what is commonly known as Super Tuesday, though former Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders sits in a close second, alone, within striking distance.

The week began with several candidates, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer dropping out, both Buttigieg and Klobuchar endorsing Biden, an event that arguably helped Biden, as it consolidated the moderate vote around Biden, rather than being split between the four of them.

By the end of last week former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg and former Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, both dropped out as well, leaving the race down to Biden and Sanders for the top bid in the Democratic Primaries.

Upon exiting Bloomberg endorsed Biden and Warren adamantly said: “No regrets, no endorsements,” outside her home.

Final Delegate Count (According to Politico:

Biden: 573
