A mother is asking for help in finding her missing daughter, Ashia Kennedy.

Krishna Kennedy said she last saw her daughter around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 as she was leaving to do volunteer work at the Dayton Visual Arts Center.

Ashia is a 16-year-old, African American female with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 225 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a polo emblem, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

She was taking an English 112 and Japanese class at Sinclair Community College while attending The Dayton Early College Academy. Her goal was to become a video game designer when she finished her college education, according to Ms. Kennedy.

“She’s really sweet, helpful and smart,” she said. “I’ve never had any complaints about her from teachers.”

Ms. Kennedy believes she might have met up with an 18-year-old male Sinclair student but has been unable to confirm that as of print.

If you have any information about Ashia and her whereabouts, please call the Dayton Police Department at (937) 333-1070.
