Sinclair students, faculty and staff use their hands for peace

During a speech given in her Communication class, Sinclair student Sheyla Alspach had an epiphany. She thought it would be a great idea to start a project for students to make 1,000 origami cranes in order to use their hands for peace. Sinclair history teacher artwork on display at the Dayton Peace Museum

The new exhibit Peace and Harmony in Chinese Brush Painting at the Dayton Peace Museum features the artwork of Afu Hong, a famous artist from China. As Hong’s student for more than six years, the exhibit also includes the artwork of Yufeng Wang, a Sinclair history professor. The exhibit will be open until June 30 and is open and free to the public. Clarion Consensus: Looking back to the origin

We started the Consensus with the first issue in September of last year.  Previously, a simple opinion column, either by a staff member or from the McClatchy-Tribune, would fill this space.  It was really no different from what you see to the right. Carrianne Chase’s fondest memory of her mother is that she used to smile all the time. But now she doesn’t. “Before the disease took its toll on her life, the smile in the picture is the smile you used to see. You don’t see that anymore,” Chase, a Sinclair Community College student, said. “People do but that is not a real smile. Dintaman, Heath and Pressly win OCCAC awards

The Sinclair Community College baseball team has something to brag about. The OCCAC Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year are all from Sinclair. Outfielder Marcus Heath was named Player of the Year after batting .433 with 9 home runs and 58 RBI. “This ranks pretty high up there.
