Even with the 24/365 news cycle, it seems like it is harder than ever for people to keep up with what is going on in their communities, their nation, and the world. Marketing class helps promote local organization

Sinclair Community College’s Marketing 295 class not only learns the art of good promotion – they also help the community. Students in the class were split into two groups and assigned a non-profit organization to represent for a project. The goal is to not only learn marketing in a real world environment, but also to help spread the word about these non-profits. “These events we throw are just to get people aware of the organization,” said Marketing student Mary Burnside. Sinclair Community College students and faculty participated in a Black History Month open mic event on Thursday, Feb. 19 in the basement of Building 8. Professor Furaha Henry-Jones helped organize the event.
